Narendra Modi to Inaugrate Vibrrant Gujrat Summit 2015


The seventh edition of the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2015,will be inagurated the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the three-day summit beginning from January 11, 2015 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

EPFO to Pay 8.75% Interest for PF Deposit for year 2014-2015

EPFO has decided to pay Interest rate of 8.75% for PF deposit for the year 2014-2015

  • What is PF / Provident Fund. ( Provident Fund Explained )
PF or provident fund is calculated as a percentage of your salary ( Basic pay and Dearness allowance if any). The present rate is 12% and the same will be cut from your salary and a matching contribution will be paid from your employer reduced by contribution to your pension fund. 
The amount will be refunded along with interest when you retire. If you are resigning you have the option of transferring the the PF balance and continue with the new employer.


  • What is EPFO ?
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation  in Hindi we call it as कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन), abbreviated to EPFO, is a statutory body of the Government of India under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. It administers a compulsory contributory Provident Fund Scheme, Pension Scheme and an Insurance Scheme. It is one of the largest social security organisations in India in terms of the number of covered beneficiaries and the volume of financial transactions undertaken.

SBI and PNB cuts interest on Housing Loan


State Bank of India has cut interest rates on home loans to 10.15% for all loan brackets, with immediate effect. For women borrowers, the interest rate for all home loans will be a uniform 10.1%, India’s largest lender said in a statement. Prior to this change, SBI charged 10.15% for loans up to Rs.75 lakh and 10.3% for loans above Rs.75 lakh. For women borrowers, these rates were 10.1% and 10.25%, respectively.


PNB has alsor educed interest rates on home and auto loans with immediate effect as part of its festival offer. PNB is offering home loans up to Rs.2 crore at an interest rate of 10.25%, which is also the bank’s base rate. For home loans above Rs.2 crore, the interest rate being levied is 10.5%, PNB said in a statement. The bank has slashed the interest rate for two-wheeler loans by 150 basis points (bps) to 12.25%, while introducing a new category of borrowers with a high credit rating who will be offered a floating rate of 10.5% on car loans. A basis point is a hundredth of a percentage point.
